October 13, 2019 marks THREE MONTHS for our sweet boy!

How is that even possible?  Three months for whatever reason feels a little bit longer.  Maybe it's the fact that now we've had him this side of my belly for a quarter of a year?  Just crazy!

Talon has really grown over the past month.  He's weighing in at a solid eleven and a half pounds.  Month three brought all of the 0-3 and 3 month clothing along with it.  He seemed like he hung out in newborn forever and now that I've packed that up... well, I don't think this size will be too far behind.  He is rocking size one diapers and we'll probably still see those for awhile longer.  Thank goodness.  Babies don't keep.

MONTH THREE has been a whirlwind.  I've been back to work full time which has added a more "busy" element to our settled in life at home.  Talon has adjusted so well with the change.  While he loves 'Nana' and we are incredibly blessed to have her, we like to think he especially enjoys time with me now on the weekends.  I could not have felt more love returning back to work.  From family to friends and my wonderful co-workers who are like family... it was such a smooth transition.  I received so much encouragement and have been surrounded by such a loving and supportive environment.

We've been fortunate, especially with me now back at work full time, that Talon is settling into a great sleep routine.  Seriously, we cannot complain.  Even though we're still up every three hours and he has an off night every now and then... the kid is sleeping so good.  And yes, I realize I'll probably be kicking myself this time next month for saying that.  Fingers crossed the four month sleeping regression skips right over this house.  #pleaseandthankyou

MONTH THREE has brought all the smiles.  My goodness, they just melt your heart.  They have become much more intentional over the past month which is SO fun watching him react.  He is getting stronger and stronger and hangs in there with the practice even though tummy time isn't exactly his favorite.  He has gotten a couple new light up toys which help!  Those in addition to Sophie, Millie and whichever paci happens to be clean and he's good to go.  So far, Talon is extremely low maintenance and it's awesome.

MONTH THREE brought the milestone of Mom and Dad's first night stay without Talon.  Granted it was for work and for about a 15 minute window between 1 and 2 o'clock in the morning we were almost heading back home... we survived and he survived.  Huge thanks to Grandma and Grandaddy for helping us out!

We took our chances heading to the orchard after they closed to try and snag a few photos which we were successful in even though most of them ended up blurry.  Taking photos with a baby is hard enough, add poor lighting and well... you might as well just tell yourself not to expect them to be great (or even good).

Talon helped us celebrate our SIXTH wedding anniversary this month.  It's crazy to think about this time last year.  We were laying in a cabana staring at the ocean in front of us dreaming about life with not a single worry in the entire world.  A lot has changed.  There has been a lot of growth and even more JOY.  We have been given the most precious gift.  We went from a family of three (you're welcome, Hopsen!) to a family of four.  Our celebration this year looked a whole lot different, but dare I say a whole lot sweeter?

We have been loving the fall weather and soaking up as many good walks as we can.  There is something so fun about getting Talon outside and feeling the fresh air.  We've been trying to embrace as much of the fall stuff as we can around here with the circumstances and we're winning at it.

Talon rocked a hotel stay this past month in Cincinanti to accommodate double day and early morning appointments.  He is such a good little traveler and does great in the car.  We can't wait for the day he can go everywhere and explore.  How old do you have to be to get a frequent flyer number?  These one night stays here and there might seem silly for us to get excited about, but they mean a lot to our little family.  They give us glimpses into the future of being able to travel as a family and also allow us to feel like we're getting to share something new with him.  One day, Buddy... we'll take you wherever you want to go.

It's been a full month of more follow up appointments, procedures and all the phone calls to make sure everything is kept in order and we get all the refills and supplies we need.  We have been blessed by a month of mostly good news at appointments and are more amazed each month by what a total trooper Talon is.  He is simply incredible.  He faces these exhausting, stressful days with such grace and constantly receives praise from everyone.  Quite simply, he is the greatest blessing.  We know it, we see it and we feel it.

I don't know what we've been loving more this month... the snuggles or the smiles.  If there is one word to sum up MONTH THREE I'd use sweet.  But before I could finish typing that out, I also thought strong.  Talon has proven to be so strong.  We admire him for that so much, even though it pains us to because quite honestly, we shouldn't have to know how strong our three month old baby is.  We just shouldn't.

The past month has been a bit of a roller coaster at times.  We get good news and then before we know it add more doctor appointments to the list.  There have been highs, lows and a whole lot of hanging on.  That is our reality right now.  Please know in midst of all that and above all, we are grateful for the beautiful reality that he is ours and that he is healthy and at home.  They say the days are long and the years are short, but gosh our days with him are already going by way too fast.  Time please slow down.

Happy THREE MONTHS to the sweetest, strongest babe.
We can't wait to spend forever with you, Talon!
